My Story
My name is Olivia Kellison. I started this blog because I have always had a passion for the great outdoors, and here I am gladly sharing what I know with outdoor enthusiasts.
It does not matter whether you are an experienced adventurer, or just planning your first trip, my blog will be of great help to you.
I spent my entire childhood in the countryside. I have been camping with friends and on my own for a long time. I have learned that sleeping outdoors does not have to be unpleasant and threatening experience.
Camping is a great way to get away from the chaos of everyday life. Camping can have a magical effect on your soul by renewing it and leaving you with a new perspective on your life and the world.

Although I have always enjoyed nature and the outdoors, my family was not a big fan of activities that might lead to leaving their comfort zone. I did not experience camping until I was in college.
My first camping trip was to Lake Tahoe back in 2006. My friends offered me to join them for a three-day trip.
Pure water, clean shores, surrounding mountainsides, hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails, and dozens of beaches.
I enjoyed every moment of being there. That was love at first sight.
Then there was another trip to Pilot Lake Camp. It is a lovely rural location with a six-acre lake where campers can canoe, kayak, paddleboard, swim, and fish.
We spent three days in this remote location to have a time of rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

Some of you might have recognized Yosemite in this picture. Yes, and you were right – an unforgettable trip to Yosemite National Park with a friend of mine.
We went there in August, so the waterfalls and rivers there were half-dried. Anyways that did not stop us from having a beautiful time in the great outdoors.
Ah, that was one of my favorite camping trips with a bunch of friends to the campground by the lake in Northern California.
There I had my first experience sleeping on a sleeping mat instead of an air mattress. That’s when I learned that you should not store mayo in the freezer.

Blue Ridge Mountains that I have been to so many times.
By the way, this picture was taken in February 2019. I was amazed at how colors changed throughout the day in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can see 50 shades of blue in this picture.
Camping along the Blue Ridge Parkway allows you to spend a few nights in a stunning natural environment in one of America’s most scenic landscapes.
This is not the full list of my outdoor adventures. Just a few that I want to share here. Every trip is like a little life.

My camping adventures were a lot of fun, but not everything went without a hitch. And I am aware that I am not the only camper who has had some difficulties.
These experiences also taught me the value of a quality shelter and high-quality camping gear, and how much they can affect your camping trip.
I made this blog in order to provide tons of useful advice on camping and how to avoid mistakes based on my personal experience. I will be happy if that can ease your path even slightly.
